Zac Efron is in talks to join Dwayne Johnson in the film version of Baywatch.
After years spent around the development stage, it appears that Baywatch might finally be getting its moment in the sun.
Seth Gordon is on board to call the shots on what has long been described as a comedic take on the popular 1990’s TV show and has Dwayne Johnson locked in to star as a by-the-book veteran lifeguard who must team up with a rule-breaking younger man (Efron, if negotiations go well and he does sign up) to save their beach from an environmental disaster that might result if a scheming oil tycoon gets his way. All being well, Gordon should be rolling the cameras in February next year.
Efron has proved he can do comedy starring alongside Seth Rogen in Bad Neighbours (see our review here), and is on for the sequel, which is in pre-production now. You can catch Efron in cinemas in We Are Your Friends on 27 August this year, followed by Dirty Grandpa on 18 March 2016.
